Today, I want to say thank you.
I don’t ever say it often enough, but to my family and friends…
Thank you for celebrating my accomplishments and achievements – even when I don’t recognize what a big moment it was. Thank you for making me see how far I’ve come and celebrating the milestones with me.
Thank you for holding me up during my worst moments… Especially when I push you away. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for giving me advice and holding my hand.
Thank you for experiencing new things with me. Thank you for traveling halfway around the world and having an open mind. Thank you for trying my new recipes, sharing new food with me and for taking me to new places.
Thank you for reminding me where we’ve been. Thank you for taking pictures all those years when I said pictures didn’t matter. You were right. And I’m glad for those pictures and the memories they bring back. And thank you for pushing me to follow my dreams, no matter how crazy they may seem.
Thank you for forgiving me when I hurt you. Sometimes I don’t know how you did forgive me… but thank you for doing it.
Thank you for quietly helping me achieve all I have, not because you had to, but because you wanted to. Thank you for supporting me in moving all over the country and the world, and listening to my stories.
Thank you for seeing the best in me. Thank you for accepting my flaws, putting up with my sass and looking past all that to see the good things. Thank you for accepting me just as I am.
And most of all…
Thank you for entering my life and bringing in light and laughter and for being extraordinary humans. Thank you for being here. This year and every year.
